Until recently, I didn’t know that I was eating such uninterruptible power supplies that allow the computer to work not for 10-15 minutes, but plow for hours. I moved to the suburbs during the winter and ran into power problems. The light in our two-story house and in general on the street goes out three or four times a week, and even when electricity is supplied, its voltage does not meet any standards. The computer and some household appliances simply refuse to work at a voltage of less than 170 volts, and such a voltage happens almost daily. Fig with him with a TV or a microwave, gas is always at hand, but without a computer I will not earn money and I need it around the clock. I buy and resell some rare items on eBay. And if a small restoration is made between buying and selling, then the price of the item can increase by 10-15 times. But auctions on eBay are tied to time and finishing offers for tasty lots often come at a time when we have a late evening or night. That is, at this time I need to be constantly online, and what is online if the computer restarts five or six times an hour, and sometimes it just goes out and cannot start. So I took such a device and a powerful gel battery. The purchase was not the most economical, a simple uninterruptible power supply would be much cheaper, but it would not work for more than 10 minutes. And with this source, I can be online for up to 2 hours.

The combination of this uninterruptible power supply and a powerful battery completely solved the issue of power failures. With normal voltage fluctuations, it conditions it well to an acceptable level, and when it is turned off, it quickly picks up the baton and feeds the computer from the battery. I even developed a whole plan to reduce power consumption: I reduce the frequency and voltage of the processor with a special program, and also made a monitor profile with reduced brightness, besides, in the evening and at night, brightness is not really needed at all. It has two sockets at the back, in one I turn on an extension cord with a tee (computer, monitor and wireless router) and the second remains a reserve just in case.

A cold start does not work, that is, the uninterruptible device tries to start the computer, but immediately turns off. Apparently it cannot cope with the surge of current when charging a large capacity at the input of a computer power supply. An unpleasant feature, I actually really counted on a cold start.
