I chose a camera for studio work, but with the possibility of going to the customer. It also required the ability to shoot high-quality 1080p video. Initially, I looked towards the EOS 5D, but it did not fit into the budget. I bought an EOS 7D body, added a couple of lenses (zoom 24-105mm f/4.0L IS USM + fixed 50mm f/1.8 STM) and realized that this is exactly what I need. Starts very fast. It shoots just as quickly, there is no shutter lag as such. Series are obtained up to 20-22 frames, just don't forget about a fast memory card.
Despite the crop matrix, the detail is very high, but only at low ISO. Already at 1600 and above, small parts begin to be lubricated by noise filters. Autofocus is excellent, fast and accurate. The tracking mode is good, it clings to the object and holds it securely even in sharp dynamics. 1080p video shoots perfectly, not all camcorders can compare with it. Convenient metal carcass, buttons-discs-levers exactly where they are needed, I got used to it in just a week. I liked the viewfinder with 100% coverage right away. The screen is of high quality, in bright light it does not go blind and almost does not glare. The top auxiliary monochrome display is useful. Japanese assembly. In Japan, only worthwhile things are produced. A very capacious battery, in the studio it works unrealistically for a long time. Autofocus does not work while shooting video. You have to focus manually.

I am fond of photography and actively go in for sports. Accordingly, I often photograph moments of sports competitions. Sport is always movement and it is not so easy to catch a valuable moment. Therefore, the camera had to turn on quickly, focus very quickly and have decent continuous shooting. I bought this model on the advice of a professional photographer. It turns on instantly and is immediately ready to shoot. The shutter fires simultaneously with pressing the button, there is no lag, even a small one. Auto focus works flawlessly. Focus is very tight. There are tracking autofocus settings that allow you to achieve a 100% result. The only BUT in his work is the inability to focus on objects located in the corners of the frame. Can shoot in low light without flash. The sensor is not noisy and, even with a sensitivity of 3200 units, frames are obtained, which can then be completely cleaned of noise with computer filters. Along with the purchase of this camera, I got acquainted with the processing of RAW files, and these possibilities were very surprising. Camera control is complicated, there are a lot of settings and manual adjustments, but they are arranged conveniently and you get used to it quickly. A convenient viewfinder that displays the main current shooting parameters. Useful diopter correction. I have a slight myopia and it was very easy to compensate for it. Good battery, lasts a long time and charges quickly. Slow focusing in LiveView mode. Automatic white balance correction is often wrong and manual adjustment is required. Although you can shoot in RAW and not have any problems with it. |

Canon introduces the EOS 7D digital camera, an all-new camera designed to meet professional requirements. In addition to Canon's new 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, the EOS 7D is equipped with the following features: dual DIGIC 4 processors for fast and high-quality shooting in various lighting conditions, an ISO sensitivity range that can be extended up to 12,800, and function of continuous shooting at a speed of 8 frames per second without the use of additional accessories. The model is distinguished by impressive technology and excellent build quality, opening up completely new photographic possibilities.
Image Accuracy — High-performance autofocus and metering systems
The camera is equipped with 19 crosshair AF points that allow photographers to capture precise shots and optimize composition. An advanced autofocus system provides a range of manual and automatic settings, including Zone AF and Spot AF modes, allowing you to track and capture subjects quickly and accurately. Autofocus settings are user-selectable, allowing for quick response to changes during shooting. You can set different AF points for vertical and horizontal positions, allowing you to automatically switch between landscape and portrait shots without pressing any buttons.
The EOS 7D also features a new metering system. The Focus Chroma and Luminance Metering System (iFCL) intelligently measures focus, chrominance, and luminance in 63 zones. In addition to the 19 AF points, the dual-layer sensor can collect data from each well-defined area for more accurate exposure.
The picture is exactly what you see
The Canon EOS 7D is equipped with an Intelligent Viewfinder that guarantees 100% coverage of your subject. With a 1x zoom1 – a first for an EOS camera – photographers see a large, bright image for a perfect shot. Transmissive LCD pixels built into the viewfinder allow you to choose between different overlay options (such as AF points, spot metering, and composition grid) and use a range of assistive tools to define image boundaries. For the first time ever, an EOS-based camera is equipped with a dual-axis electronic level (on the viewfinder and LCD screen) that indicates tilt and pan angles. This feature is especially useful when shooting landscapes to align the sky line, or when using tilt and shift lenses to align the camera.
The camera is equipped with a new 3-inch Clear View II LCD screen with a solid structure. No glare is achieved by eliminating the air gap between the protective cover of the LCD screen and the liquid crystal. The viewing angle of the new display is 160 degrees and does not decrease even in bright light conditions. The bright light sensor (same as in the EOS 5D Mark II) located on the side of the screen can automatically adjust the brightness according to the shooting conditions.
Creative experiments with lighting
The Canon EOS 7D is equipped with a built-in Speedlite transmitter. For the first time on an EOS-based camera, photographers can control an external flash without additional accessories. Perfect for those who like to experiment creatively with lighting settings. The EOS 7D also features an advanced manual built-in flash and a wider range, including a 15mm focal length.
