Probably, each of us has secrets and values \u200b\u200bthat it is desirable to keep out of the reach of strangers. For some, these secrets and values are associated with work, for others, with personal affairs; but anyway, there are times when the usual security measures like locked doors and locks on drawers are not enough. In such cases, specialized vaults are used - safes. To choose the right safe, you should keep in mind: absolutely impenetrable vaults do not exist in principle, the only question is how much time an attacker will have to spend accessing the contents. The longer this time, the better. And it depends on two points: the class of resistance to burglary and the features of the lock.
The burglary resistance class describes how difficult it is to open the safe through one of the walls without affecting the lock. Burglary-resistant storages are considered to be at least class I, and models of class IV and above are professional and are practically not found on free sale. It is also worth bearing in mind that some safes (“fireproof cabinets”) are designed to protect the contents from fire from fire, and were not originally designed to resist breaking. However, there are also combined (fire and burglary resistant) models. Fire resistance is expressed by an alphanumeric index according to GOST R 50862-2005; the decoding of these indices can be found in special sources.
As for the lock, here you need to pay attention to the method of unlocking and locking. Key locks do not require memorizing the cipher and allow you to transfer the key to other people, but an attacker can take possession of it quite easily. Combination locks are more reliable in this sense - but only if you keep the cipher in your head, otherwise a cracker can read it. Biometric fingerprint locks are the most secure, but they are expensive and inconvenient in cases where you need to provide access to the safe to another person. Safes can be equipped with several locks of different types, which in some cases increases reliability.
We will separately touch on several specific types of safes:
Of course, safes can vary in size, volume, internal layout, the presence of shelves and drawers, etc.; here the choice depends on your specific needs and the characteristics of the content that you plan to place inside.
