Huawei Technologies is one of the largest companies in China and one of the largest manufacturers of telecommunications equipment in the world. Initially, the company was created in order to oust foreign manufacturers of network equipment from the Chinese market, but it was smartphones that brought the brand worldwide fame and popularity.
The first Huawei mobile phone hit the market in 2004. It was a push-button device with a monochrome display. In subsequent years, the company released 3G-enabled mobile phones, but real success came to Huawei in 2009-2010 with the launch of Android smartphones.
