The strength of stainless steel

The wall-mounted storage water heater of the Italian manufacturer Zanussi ZWH / S 80 Splendore XP 2.0 is a modern device with good equipment and ample opportunities. The boiler holds 80 liters of water in a double flat ultra-light flat tank made of high quality Nikel Plus stainless steel. The high content of alloying elements in the composition of the steel makes the material exceptionally resistant to corrosion, and the built-in magnesium anode further extends the life of the drive. The automatic argon welding of Programme Control also gives confidence in the quality of the internal tank, which, last but not least, allowed the manufacturer to establish an 8-year warranty period for the storage tank.

Wi-Fi + electronics on guard of savings

The model has two colours: white and silver. The device heats water using a pair of heating elements with a total power of 2 kW, which operate in a three-stage mode: 0.7, 1.3 and 2.0 kW. Heating water to a maximum temperature of 75 °C takes 3 hours. The device is equipped with a mechanical temperature controller, as well as an electronic control system that allows, when a removable Wi-Fi module is connected, to synchronize the boiler with a smartphone for remote control via the Internet. The built-in timer, the ability to programme your own operating modes and remote control optimize the power consumption of the device, providing 55% savings.

Don't freeze in the cold

The model is not limited to traditional functions of protection against overheating, overpressure and operation without water. Frost protection mode, which is often used in heating appliances out of necessity, at first glance looks redundant here. After all, for the relevance of the mode, the device must be located in an unheated country house or a country house closed for the winter. It would seem that it is enough to completely remove the water from the tank in order to avoid the negative effects of low temperatures. But the design of the dual drive does not allow this, leaving a “non-drainable” volume inside. It is for this that the “anti-freeze” function is needed, which allows maintaining the water temperature not lower than +5 °C. In addition, the unit is equipped with the important and useful Bacteria Stop System (anti-legionella) stagnant water sanitization function, which kills all bacteria in a simple high-temperature heating cycle.
