Solidigm P41 Plus is an SSD from a young American startup founded by former Intel and Hynix engineers. Made in the modern M.2 NVMe format and runs on the fast PCI-Express 4.0 bus. Thanks to this, the SSD is compatible not only with desktop computers, but also with the PlayStation 5 game console, which requires PCIe version 4.

Heats up slightly

And moderate heating makes Solidigm P41 Plus a good choice for laptops, including thin ultrabooks. Low heat dissipation is achieved using the Silicon Motion SM2269XT controller, which is manufactured using the energy-efficient TSMC 12 nanometer process technology. And the XT index means there is no need for a separate operational buffer chip.

Smart algorithms

Instead, the SSD uses part of the system-wide RAM using Host Memory Buffer technology, which increases performance and at the same time reduces cost. The sequential reading and writing speed of large files for the 2-terabyte version of Solidigm P41 Plus can reach 4125 and 3325 MB/s, respectively. And small files are processed at speeds of up to 540 thousand IOPS (input/output operations per second).
