Viper
A few years ago, the American brand Patriot, with its Viper series, famously broke into the east european RAM market, quickly winning back a piece of the pie from HyperX, Crucial, G. Skillz and Corsair. The reason for the success was the combination of price and performance. For example, the peer-to-peer Steel strips easily took 4200 MHz at a voltage of 1.4 V and barely noticeable heating (thanks to massive aluminium heatsinks), for which many enthusiasts fell in love with them.

Compared to the first revision of the Viper Elite, the design of the new product has been thoroughly improved, the design of the radiator, which is now made of aircraft-grade aluminium and covers almost the entire area of the chip. This is not surprising, because it has significantly increased overclocking capabilities, thanks to which the most advanced models start up out of the box at a frequency of 4000 MHz.
Optimal bar height
At the same time, the radiator itself has become smaller and neater. The height of the old bars reached 43 mm, and this is just a grey area in which 2 mm may turn out to be superfluous and a conditional turntable for a new processor will not fit into the case. The height of the new bar is 35 mm and does not create problems when assembling a PC. At the same time, it is important that the memory looks much neater and, if anything, more solid. It seems like the trend of designing for 12 year olds has reached its peak, and in 2021 we are relearning how to live without ubiquitous RGB lighting.
Serious memory for enthusiasts
In general, the design, ergonomics, and overclocking capabilities confirm the manufacturer's words that this is a serious memory for assemblers who need performance rather than show-off. In comparison to this, the absence of obvious shortcomings was especially pleasing. Judging by the first version of Viper Elite, the main problem there was frequent marriage. Hopefully the Viper Elite II can avoid these issues.
