B&W PX7 S2

The flagship model of closed on-ear wireless headphones with an advanced ANC active noise reduction system, support for aptX / ACC codecs and the possibility of combined connection. The model belongs to the upper price segment and is the ideological successor to the flagship model PX7, which in 2019 set a new bar for wireless headphones with ANC. It looks almost the same as the PX7: the metal headband is covered with genuine soft leather, the memory foam ear pads are lined with soft nappa leather, the ear cups rotate in any convenient direction, and the total weight of the structure is 307 grams.

But the filling of the headphones has been updated almost completely. The PX7 S2 has 40mm carbon cone drivers that sit at a slight angle to the ear. They provide a combination of natural natural sound and ultra-fast response across the entire spectrum, with a minimum level of distortion (harmonic distortion does not exceed 0.1%). Even with a wireless connection and noise canceling turned on, the B&W PX7 S2 are capable of reproducing high-resolution, detailed and balanced audio.

The proprietary adaptive noise reduction technology has reached a new level and is now in no way inferior to the market leaders (Sony, Apple, Bose). It is interesting in that it effectively cuts off ambient noise, without affecting the quality and character of the sound, without smearing the bass and without creating a delay in signal transmission. 4 microphones work at once on ANS: two measure the noise in the ear cups, two react to ambient noise, then this data is processed by the built-in ANC algorithms.

In contrast to ANC, the headphones support transparent mode, the Multipoint function and can work in hands-free headset mode thanks to two directional microphones built into the bowls. The built-in lithium-ion battery provides up to 30 hours of battery life (with active ANC function) and supports fast charging technology (15 minutes of connection to the charger provides 7 hours of operation). As an alternative to a wireless connection, you can use the good old-fashioned 3.5mm mini-jack audio cable. For convenience, the cable was made removable.
