Apple Watch SE 40 mm

The Apple Watch has always been in the top league of wearables. To compete with the horde of “smart” companions on the wrist of the mid-low-cost segment, the newly-made model with the prefix SE is called upon.

The continuity of generations

The watch is positioned as a replacement for the third generation of Apple Watch. The model retains many of the signature features of the Series 3, including fall detection, watch face sharing, sleep monitoring and, of course, an advanced fitness assistant. The OLED screen, which has grown in size by a good third, and the internal “hardware” with a fast S5 processor at the head have undergone an upgrade in it. The updated chipset provides a twofold increase in watch performance (in the context of comparison with the Apple Watch Series 3).

Internal hardware

On the shelves of Apple Watch SE can be seen in two sizes — 40 mm and 44 mm. In the maximum configuration, the watch is equipped with an eSIM and an LTE module. They also have a built-in compass, pedometer, heart rate monitor, NFC chip. But the prerogative of equipping with a pulse oximeter and an ECG sensor was left to the older Apple Watch Series 6, as well as the Always on Display function.

Joining the Apple Ecosystem

The wearable gadget works under watchOS 7, which Apple rolled out as part of WWDC-2020. Out of the box, the watch comes with a new Fitness+ fitness app that offers workout tracking and virtual classes. As usual, the aluminium body of the gadget is protected from dust and moisture in accordance with the requirements of the IP68 standard. Those who wish to join the ecosystem of "apple" wearable devices and not pay fabulous money at the same time will ideally fit the model.
