Last year, in the summer, I decided to radically modernize the heating system of the house and completely abandon the use of gas in it. The gas boiler was successfully replaced with a solid fuel one, in which firewood is used as the main fuel (fortunately, there is a forest nearby and they can be purchased relatively inexpensively). But the issue of hot water turned out to be more complicated. For his right decision, this universal combined water heater was bought. This water heater can work from two sources of energy. During the heating season, the heating circuit of the solid fuel boiler becomes the main source of heat. To do this, inside the boiler there is a special spiral heat exchanger. And as soon as the heating season ends and the boiler is mothballed for the summer, electric heating comes into play, for which one submersible heating element with a power of 2000 W is responsible. The power is large, but the volume of the water heater is impressive, so it does not heat up too quickly. Heating control is mechanical, using a rotary knob. The maximum water temperature can reach 85 degrees, but the manufacturer directly recommends using an interval from 50 to 60. More is possible, from the point of view of technology, there are no problems. But the heat loss through the thermal insulation of the tank (foamed polyurethane) in this case will also increase. The tank is well protected from overheating and overpressure. Compared to the old geyser, a big inconvenience at first was the slowness of the water heater. Heating water from 20 to 60 degrees takes more than two and a half hours, and if the water is cold, freshly poured, with a temperature of about 10 degrees, then you have to expect much more than three. In short, you need to think ahead, otherwise if the roasted rooster pecks and the water is not ready, then you will have to wait anyway. |
